Self-Inflicted Hate

Self-Inflicted Hate

A Poem by Shawna

At the bottom of your bottle
That's where you find peace
Serenity in nothingness
Alone with your inner beast
You live for no one
And care only for the spirits
When you lose eveything you know
When you scream out loud
We'll have learned of your letting go
A crime of passion
Anger in the shape of a knife
With disobedience and conviction
You carry your strife
You live for no one
And care only for the spirits
When you lose everything you know
When you scream out loud
We'll have learned of your letting go
Who do your choices effect?
When do you let yourself reflect?
This mirror is crushing under the weight
Of your self-inflicted hate
You live for no one
And care only for the spirits
When you lose everything you know
When you scream out loud
We'll have learned of your letting go
