![]() A Condor's Triumph (All poems begin here going down the list)A Poem by RaymondoftheWoods![]() 26 line poem dedicated to a California Condor bird![]() A Running River In Canyon Walls Spiraling Into a Great Waterfall Then a Screaming California Condor Sky-Sails the Rainbow Falls. With Great Wings Flapping, The Screaming Condor Flies, With Gnarling huge beak The Screaming Condor Flies. But Hark! A crushing gun shot! An Evil & Vile Poacher! He Hunts His Outlaw Trophy of Trophies, His Own California Condor! The Crown Evil of All His Poaches. But Nature Harkens and Fate Swings The Condor Swoops His Condors Claws Have Plucked Upward the Poacher And Sweeping Over Rainbow Falls The Condor Releases His Prey To a Long and Airy Watery Drop And End this Poachers Life From Impact down a 300 yard fall, And in end the Poacher is split upon a ragged boulder, Nature as Triumphant Celebrant Increases the Sun of the Day For Here, Once, man has become Condor's Prey. composed December 12, 1968 Belleville Illinois Raymond Lee Collins (Raymondofthewoods) age 16 copyright reserved by the publisher Carol A Wells © 2023 RaymondoftheWoods |
