the ocean and i

in oceans i lay
swept under sand
under shell
as the fishes swam over
i slept,
and i dreamed.

in silence profound
i felt my long hair
grow above me,
and out
small particles
small life forms
they grew into my hair
and turned it all green
as sea weed my hair
soon became

not long after that
my skin began to break
in tiny pieces
it left my bones
to join the sand banks above me
my eyes were eaten
by clams
and oysters
and morphed into pearls
far brighter than i
ever held them to be

and slowly
eventually
my fingernails left me
my toenails,
they lifted from my body
to cling to small fishes
and sparkle like stars
as they all swam past

as my blood cooled in ocean
as my bones left me
my body became naught
and my soul,
it slept on
staying in the sea
while my body became lost
and my mind became free
