Shine

The light left the room as the door closed

Then there was only darkness

There the darkness lived

Everyone who was in the darkness

Knew of nothing else but darkness

They became accustomed to the nothingness

That darkness brought

It was still and silent

Then the door opened once again

And the light flooded the place

It conquered the darkness

Illuminating all its corners

The darkness was no more

Darkness has no place while in the presence of light

There is only darkness in the absence of light

So keep the lights on

And shine

Hey so glad to see some new poetry my friend… and what an inspirational and uplifting poem it is… yes there is always a light with in us, it is called our heart. We just need to learn to trust it to lead us to where the world is colorful and vibrant.
