Melody Pond/River Song

Melody Pond/River Song

A Poem by p.kuhl

Surely no one
is more suited than the fruit
of that tangled Waiting Tree
to love the traveling healer
across his great
leaps
in time
just waiting

for the curious case of that twisting
tragedy to converge.

You are a Song
of stars, a conception, a counter-
clockwise clock, you are Sleeping
Beauty with an unreliable
distress signal.

He is a vessel
among stars, a misconception, a clock
with no hands but many faces, he is searching
for beauty by answering
cries for help.

This is the moment
when Rivers intersect
and Doctors die
and time stands
on a precipice.

You are locked
in the mind of a Library
like Heaven, never
to grow old
or see
your love
again.
You are no longer waiting

for your day of bliss,
the day you kill the man Who
never waited

(like the centurion or the girl
who didn't make sense)

no longer waiting
for the day
he kills you too.
