Chains of Hope

Chains of Hope

A Poem by Pam Nyburg

In the silent recesses of my heart

Lives a child

She’s quaking in fear

And yearning to be loved

Haunted by dreams

of what cannot be

And never was

There is no time or place for her

She will never be free

Or satisfied

And yet she remains

Tethered to me

With chains of steel

and hope…

Good poem. We all are chained to what we were as children.
