HIS NAME WAS JOHN

HIS NAME WAS JOHN

A Poem by poetdoug
"

This is a Memorial Poem today in honor of our Beloved U.S.President John F. Kennedy's passing in Dallas today, Nov.22, 1963.Our Rose family lived in Dallas then and now.

"
He came Riding High
Into town about Noon
On Downtown Dallas streets
   His Name was John

He'd left his Gun at home
Forgetting about any enemies
After all, he was a Celebrity
    His Name was John

All of a Sudden
Shot's fired at his parade limo
Jackie ducked and tried shoving him to safety
But it was way too late

The Bullet hit his handsome head
It was the 'Shot heard round the world"
America's Camelot lay in disarray
His name was the late JFK.

Thanks for your review.
I remember this day. My Babysitter was crying all day. I was six years old. I learn the meaning of this day later of course. A sad loss for the USA. Thank you for remembering a great man.
