Welcome to my World

Welcome to my World

A Poem by poetdweller

written by a depressed nonmedicated sixth grader (a few years ago)

"

When your sanity leaves,
And your happiness goes,
Welcome to my world.

When you see me again,
As an adult,
Will you regret the things you've said,
Causing the drought in my world?

When people are there,
Wanting your happiness,
Putting you down,
Hurting your every day,
Welcome to my world.

The tearing and pain,
Is eased by a friend,
Who understands you,
And is old enough to help.

You wish you had one too?

Welcome to my world.

Yet you don't forget the bad times,
You learn from your mistakes,
You don't forget their haunting faces,
Or harsh words spoken,
Nothing can change the damage done to my world

The nasty notes, the bad things said,
How they threw you and you hurt your head,
The immaturity, the rumors spread,
They burn a hole right through you till you become,
A heartless stone.
(literally, they all happened... someone grabbed me by my head and hit itinto the ground)

I won't hurt you,
Or tease you back,
Or pass those notes,
Or say those things,
I'll leave you be,
So you won't see others in pain, thinking
Welcome to my world.

Welcome to a place, not meant for the faint of heart,
You are caught in the trap,
Welcome to my world.

Very well written and as bright as you are I know you will learn to fly above your world and its heat will only lift your wings.
