Selections from 1000 haiku in 100 days

A Poem by Ryan "rat" Travis
"

Here's some haiku, hope you like them.

"

Writing and driving

can be very dangerous

haiku accident

idiot left his

blinker on going real slow

old man behind wheel

it’s times like this that

I could really use a gun

roadrage to the max

If life was like a

videogame, my car would

have rocket launchers

If the speed limit’s

65, then why can my

car go 120

If they didn’t want

people to speed, then why did

they make cars so fast

You’re so in a rush

speed up so you can slow down

getting nowhere fast

ignorance is bliss

stupidity a virtue

but you’re an a*****e

idiots, idi-

ots, everywhere but not a

gun to shoot them all

On daily commute

idiot drivers abound

it scares ya shitless

I’ve realized traffic

can be good, it lets you read

what you are writing

why do bike riders

insist they are like cars

GET OUT OF MY WAY!

Driving with headset

mobile telemarketer

that is really, smart

Life is annoying

one ways, speed bumps, road blocks, yield

the road to no where

dumb silly stupid

idiots bumble around

clueless co-workers

customer service

your orders not ready yet

we lost your pictures

Life at train station

people bustle back n’ forth

with someplace to go

stream of commuters

like salmon swimming up stream

they’re working class shlubs

we’re slaves to the green

all powerful paper god

bow to the money

movers and shakers

keeping up with the jones’s

make a better deal

the secret of life

it’s not how good you’ve been

it’s MONEY and SEX

the way of the world

lust, power, greed, avarice

man, I love this place

If you slow yourself

others pass by like a blur

time IS relevant

Government Center

joining men to sit on wall

loser gallery

asking for the time

man grumbles he don’t have it

I stare at his watch

I really don’t hate

people, it’s their ignorance

and indifference

inspirationless

except how rude people are

hate people like that

This guy’s an a*****e

just plops right down n’ spreads out

like he owns the world

must be a lawyer

or something on that track

a total d***o

people are stupid

they have these perceived notions

live in a cocoon

Junkies on corner

trying to behave normal

blatant abnormal

3 blatant junkies

a tall one, a short one and

one who’s just not there

short one is jerky

his actions quick and abrupt

definite speed freak

tall on is languid

his actions, slow and flowing

he’s chasing dragons

the one who’s not there

he sort of holds up the wall

druggie enigma

just 3 junkie men

who prepare for their next fix

as I walk on by

OK, shows over

there’s nothing left to see here

now get the f**k out.
