Oh if 2020 were to be a Human

Oh if 2020 were to be a Human

A Poem by poetgirl

Oh if 2020 were to be a human,

he'd be more foe than friend,

a misunderstood teenager in a ripped over-sized tee,

wrestling every night in bed in agony,

Uncertain of his future, resentful of his past,

There's no telling how long this feeling is going to last,

Creating havoc every time he rises up,

The beast inside cannot be controlled once the clock has struck.

Never a rhyme or reason, never a warning for what's to come,

Is he thinking or is he just plain dumb?

Can't tell if he's been possessed or if it's the parents to blame,

For everyone is doing their best at playing this life game,

one wrong move may sow a seed into a problem that feels impossible to solve,

on the verge of the end: imprisonment, suicide, drug abuse, danger

Yet even this teen will grow into a humble man,

With the right guidance and nurturing, it will be revealed--God’s plan,

When we all come together as one and show him that his mistakes are still correctable,

that he can still blossom into a flower and now stronger than ever he can take his experiences and take the pain and turn it into something beautiful.

How sometimes you take a couple steps backward before you go forwards, how it gets worse before it gets better. But no rain, no rainbow, no pain, no gain.

It’s all a matter of perception. They’re only growing pains. He will get better. All you need are hope, faith, and resilience.
