Crunch, Splash

Crunch, Splash

A Poem by poetic-raven2012

Vibrant autumn leaves fall from
Drowsy oaks, light branches sway in the
Cool breeze; leaves collect in the grass.
Vibrant drops of blood fall from a
Drowsy head, arms slump, a slave to the
force of gravity; pools collect on the pavement.

Children laugh happily as the leaves
crunch under their small feet that
pitter patter around the tree.
Flies sprout happily as the body
decays beneath their prickly legs; blood
pitter patters around the body.

It’s a sad day when the city comes and
collects the natural playthings from the
covered ground; children frown.
It’s a sad day when the city comes and
gathers the body from the cement beneath the
covered bridge; flies buzz.

Somewhere another leaf crunches.

Somewhere another blood drop splashes.
