Broken and Crumbling

Broken and Crumbling

Broken and Crumbling

Whether you see it or not, I’m broken. With every little word or action, with every little mark or drop of blood, I’m broken, and each takes me further beyond the point of return.

Did you ever thing I’d be the one to give up,
To take myself and run?
Did you ever think I’d be the one to not give a f**k,
To hide from the burning sun?

Whether you see it or not, I’m crumbling. Every time another scar is added, or another bruise deepens, I’m crumbling. Like a landscape after an earthquake, I am the terrified dirt. It is afraid to move forward for fears of another outlash fro the strongest force - the earth. I am that mismatched jumble of dirt that’s been dumped across other things, that’s been imposed on others.

Could I be the one in four?
No…your trust goes too far for me.
Could I be the bleeding one begging for more?
No…if I told, you would not believe.

I am that lukewarm earth dying to strike back, but not sure who is at fault. Could it be me?

The dirt trembles in its skin,
Crushing itself,
Collapsing in on itself,
Committing suicide.

The dirt and I die.

I love it! I love the last line. My only suggestion would be to skim through it and correct the two typos. Everything else is amazing! I love the image of "lukeward earth dying to strike back"! Great job!
