Romance of the Leaves

Romance of the Leaves

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

There is a hush upon the wind
Blowing softly across time
Swaying in the tree branches
As the hours begin to decline

A silky rustling of leaves
Brush smoothly against each other
Whispering an ancient language
Humming to the earth mother

Midnight silently approaches
Listening to the hushed wind
As the moon brilliantly shines
Glowing as limbs gracefully bend

Stars glitter across the sky
Winking at the hidden affair
Leaves weaving naturally
An intricate romance they share

Beautifully descriptive. Your lines had a real feel of romance to them and I already have a great affinity to trees. Lovely work PB.

That frequently happens when writing poetry. You go off at a tangent and find a new ending :)
This is the kind of poem that challenges me to write something profound becuz what I'm reading is so profound! This poem is flowing in all channels . . . rhyme, rhythm, lyrical language, mystical ideas, it's magically enchanting on a level I would love to attain in a poem someday. Reading this, the sounds of the ways you put words together FEELS like what your words are saying . . . like leaves rustling together . . . that kind of feeling (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
