Tattooed Masquerade

Let the Masquerade

Begin to dance

With hypnotizing vigor

Pulsing to a different beat

Inducting wall of mirrors

 

Detach correspondence

Shadows those true emotions

That make the heart accelerate

Quivering the fanciful passion

 

The masquerade in full swing

Gyrating to a toxic rhythm  

Gravitating without direction

 

Conductive desire hides

Behind wall of cement and mortar

Disguising underneath friendship

Becoming a chameleon of sorts

Playing safe becomes the resorts

 

While love avalanches

Ebbing through engorged veins

Migrating to the enthralled heart

As overactive hormones sing

 

Tattooed masks clearly inked

Holding firmly in place

So the true nature doesn’t escape
