Silence

Silence

A Poem by Joseph C Walls
"

A Poem of Abuse

"
Standing in the alley.
Dark as the sky.
Scared of what to do.
Don't know who to trust.

No one to call.
Standing there in unraveled clothes.
Afraid of society.
Confused of life.

Heart torn out and broke.
Knowing a strain within.
Knew better but did not care.
A desire consumed so strongly.
More erotic than nature.
And strong passion.
Thinking to yourself.
What do I do?
What do i do?

The first two stanza's were very strong when thinking about abuse and I think they fit the idea very nicely. I have to say, when I reached the line "more erotic than nature and strong passion"... I became disturbed. Not because I did not grasp the concept but because I did not fully understand what kind of abuse we were speaking about until those lines. Well done.
