Love....

Why do you fall in love
with an unattainable heart
knowing she is out of your league
your brokenness tearing apart

Forever encumbered in the friend zone
a curse when you want so much more
you try to be strong but it drives you insane
the feelings you just can't ignore

Love is a feeling that's deceptive and cruel
leaving you helpless dying and lost
a lone empty shell is what you became
paying a terrible horrible cost

Now you are lonely and empty inside
wanting the one who fulfills
but it never comes your abandoned for life
then love comes and devours it's kill

The first taste of New love is like when you mix warm cherry pie with vanilla ice cream. It's thrilling and delicious, and every bite you take makes you want more and it is all good and well until the ice cream sours or the pie grows stale. That's what your poem reminded me of. Love will find you, you just need to stop hiding from it.
