And she knew love

And she knew love

A Poem by Lauren

Entrancing spells from the soul

of the lone man who knew her best

spilled out onto the rolling 'scape

of an abandoned girl's spirit

and arid tears wept down

a face that didn't know

whether to smile.

In her captivated gaze, he was always stunning

in every facet, in every imperfect pore.

After myriad years of friendless hours,

she found hope and craved to absorb his light.

The degradation of her past was elapsed

in a pool of resurfaced dreams,

her lifelong companion discovered

in an instance of tete-a-tete

which necessitated no thought

on the parts of two broken lovers.

Suddenly her dilapidated world was just

and his saintly face was more ethereal still.
