Expensive Illusions

Expensive Illusions

A Poem by Poeticpiers
"

satirical sonnet

"

Expensive illusions.

They prey on women’s vanity

To sell their expensive creams

Though they appear to guarantee.

They can fulfil your cherished dreams.

They word their adverts carefully

In their attempts to make you buy

Their products packaged prettily.

So they are sure to catch your eye

Although their adverts do not lie

They do not tell the simple truth.

It is their hope that you will try

Anything to keep your youth.

The make huge profits easily

Pandering to your vanity.
