To The "Moon" And Back

To The "Moon" And Back

A Poem by KatieJean

I had thought I’d lost track of my heart

You know misplaced it, as it fell out of reach

When you and I took that jump to the moon and back

And as we floated back down

There were clouds of lust surrounding us

And as you pulled me into you

Your crooked smile appearing on your face

Told me there wasn’t any place you rather be

And slowly my heart fell back into place.

I think this is a great way to depict the uncertainty but complete joy of a relationship. You're on a high for so long, to the moon as you put it, and when you come back down after a time, you're still in love but have seen the best and worst of each other. Love this!
