Time

 

Time cannot release the pain

That you have granted me

But in the end I’ll surely gain

The lesson broken free

Please do not say the words

That I so very dread

For the bright singing of the birds

Means my heart is at it’s end

Please do not punish me

For all the things they’ve done

I’m broken to many pieces

I just know you’re not the one

 

Time cannot heal the wounds

That I bear everyday

For when I see and hear you

The wounds become at bay

I cannot stand the pain that you

Have kindly given me

For when the words are spoken dear

I know I’ve broken free

Life is just one big surprise

Both good and very bad

The wounds I bear that I despise

I surely never had

 

Time cannot be a friend

For it simply doesn’t care

I see the day that it all ends

It’s coming very near

I breathe my last shaky breath

And say goodbye to few

For now I see that Death’s wrath

Has taken my love from you
