IMAGINE

IMAGINE

A Poem by sue

Imagine

A land with no trees,

just the solitary distance ahead to see.

...

No whistling wind in harmony chatting.

A silent whisper on a lonely road.

no shelter when the sun has gone to rest,

after raining down with burning  jest.

imagine

as you walk through the leaves,

the autumn colours  ringing tunes under your feet,

as you shuffle along with the harmony of the breeze.

Does it matter as you not care the distance travelled,

Walking through the storms of life that harass you.

no burning gold or flames of red to cheer your bent head,

can you imagine?

The miles of emptiness spreading as does inside your head.

no carpet of gold to give that glow of hope in each tread.

no glittering diamonds of rain sparkes you claim,

as you walk along that lonely road.

No sun to mirror the thoughts that remain,

like puddles from the aftermath of a tearful day.

can you imagine?

Catching the beauty from the warmth of the leaves,

listening to the breeze in its symphony with the trees,

Joining in with the leaves as they dance and circle with the wind,

reaching out and to catch them as they tease and twirl around,

hugging the trees as they giving strength back to your dreams,

and finding its not as bad as it seems,

as you tune into the wisdom of natures  knowledge,

away from the drama of crumbling ruins that befall,

Yes I can imagine.

as I have done the walk.

You give such beautiful, descriptive imagery as always. I really did feel I could close my eyes and picture everything you were saying. A wonderful piece.
