Wishing on Dandelions

Wishing on Dandelions

A Poem by Julie Beth

Picking a dandelion

On a warm summer night

Holding it up

Into the moon light

When bad days have taken a toll

Pick a dandelion,

Make a silent wish,

And seal it with a gentle kiss of air

One by one

 The seeds will fly

Right on up

Into the night sky

Away flies all your worries

Your fears

Your nervousness

It will all subside

All thanks to

That magical act

Of seeing dandelions fly

On a warm summer night

When you’re done with being beat up

Don’t give up

All you have to do

Is make a wish

On a dandelion

So, you write poems, too, and this is a fine one. I hope your teacher gives it high marks---I do.
