Drudgery

Drudgery

A Poem by Pradipna Lodh

I reside with drudgery

Without it, life will be a misery

The sweat of labour

Brings the sweet of my efforts

I am a puppet, who can move

On his own, without any support

I have walked through bleak tunnels

Alone and desolate, when the world turned away

The journey was a bumpy ride to hell

But I was greeted with light at the end

There’s more to come in the future

I am brave enough to face them

I am always on the edge of the cliff

Trying to dive into the whirlpool of the world

I want to swim in deeper waters

Ride with the tide of fear

And reach the shore as a winner
