Enemy

Enemy

A Poem by prema

Enmity is alien to me
And yet I do have an enemy
The one who wants to evict me
From my very own life.

No it's not death the culprit
A living one just like me
To my misfortune he thinks different
Hence he wants my life to live his life.

The more I tried to be away
To live my life
The more the clutches my life had to bear
So I deem him as my enemy.

The long solitude hours-
To be there I occupy a chair
My foe wants that particular chair
Though many such chairs lie in wait.

A hardcore is my enemy
For he wants what I want
Neither the less nor the more
That too to me who have no preference.

Since I don't have a preference
Whatever meagre comes to me
I take it as a bonus knowing well
My enemy awaits to lay hands on it.

My enemy has his concept
Of Life, the way he puts it
Is funny, the four letters of LIFE
For him stands as 'Love Is - Fighting Ever'.
