Dark Addictions

My thoughts and feelings are hidden
I think before I act
Wish I could be careless again
I know I never can.

 

These changes were abrupt
They came by so fast.
My mind is wandering
And my heart's a mess.

 

I wish I could stop
I try and try
I want to be a better person
But you can't walk away from an addiction.

 

You have to crawl away
Hoping it won't come back to haunt you
Relive those moments when everything was in control
Because you never know if you will ever have control again

 

Try a little harder
And next time see if things are like they seem
