How could it be?

I've looked evil in the eyes.
Yes I have.
I've screamed helplessly in its grasp.
Evil wants to see you hurt,
it wants to see you cry,
it does not care what you think
nor
how you feel,
it don't care if you are cold,
hot, hungry, hurt, or scared.
It don't care,
because its evil...

how can such evil reside inside of a creature that I have so much love for?
