When it came to rain

When it came to rain, no one was around

But I was glad because I learned to stand on my own

To stand in the cold and get wet by every bitter drop falling on me

No one was visible and I was there standing - alone

Devastated and soaked in loneliness I never imagined possible

The rain poured for days, I was trying to stand firm on the ground

Cloaking myself with warmth, rubbing my chest as if it were my heart

Broken, I tried to keep my stand, my knees shaking, my feet numb

Days kept on counting and misery grew every moment

Rain fell like tears from my eyes - bitter and cold

It rained for nights and not for days, for the sun never showed up

Time kept running like a train and it felt like forever

For a point never showed up

My loneliness is pursuing me to run through the rain,

It may never end but I could try

I might not reach the end and stand throughout the cold as the rain pours

But at least have a chance to see the sweet end of it all.
