Quintessential Questions

Quintessential Questions

A Poem by Prophet In The Making
"

As children we are taught the primary questions, the 5Ws and H. Out of all the questions, the why has always been the most interesting.

"

Who?

What?

When?

Where?

How?

Why?

Why is it that my people continue to be treated as inferior?

Why is it that my race stands to define what I am capable of accomplishing?

Why is it that the great Langalibalele was imprisoned for standing for what was right and just?

Why is it that Americans fail to realize that we are privileged beyond belief?

Why is it that white people seem to be the oppressor everywhere I go?

Why is it that my people, Black people, are treated as nothing?

Why is it that some minorities feel as though they are superior to another?

Why am I so angry?

Why am I looked at as nothing, when I am an embodiment of hope?

Why am I struggling to find the words to say in a space where we are encouraged to be open?

Why do words continue to dance around my head, but refuse to lay on the page?

Why did trump just eliminate an entire healthcare plan?

Why is a whole administration okay with millions of people dying?

Why am I okay with dying?

Why am I so afraid to live out the rest of my days?

Why?

Oh, why?
