Yours

Yours

A Poem by James Prudence

My mind may wander from the task at hand,

And sojourn to where the eagles flew,

I may find myself in some unknown place,

But no matter my thoughts, time or space,

My mind always wanders back to you.

You summon me with your every breath,

You hold my attention at fingers length,

I may find myself resisting sirens call,

But no matter my will I am bound to fall,

And serve you with all mine mortal strength.

My emotions are your marionette,

To be spun and twisted till we depart,

I may find myself divided within,

But no matter if I’m baffled thin,

I will always love you with all my heart.
