Lockdown Town

Lockdown Town

A Poem by Pete
"

As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness. - Thoreau

"
Europe, US virus deaths surge as Trump reverses New York lockdown ...

People are dying.
No one is flying.
"Closed" signs in doors.
Media keeping scores.
Sarcastic streets are empty.
Day has become night.
Fear embracing plight.
A pathogenic, masked bandit has held up life.
Armed with social strife.

Stores pickpocketed and rude.
"Keep well" has become a sick platitude.
Breathing contagious and the living crude.
Suspicious eyes search for the sun's infected corona.
"Positive" prayers gut fish in search of Jonah.
Feeling blessesd.
"Negative" reads the test.
Nothing to do but clean.
Damn this quarantine ...

very nicely done
In B.C. in general, on Van Isl. in particular, the situation appears reasonably under control
Of course everything is shut down but things could be much worse
