Shards

Pieces of Broken Shattered glass on ... | Stock image | Colourbox

A million and one pieces.
I know because I counted.
Can never be put back together.
No.
Never.

They speak of the past.
Things that don't last.
Especially stuff you shouldn't ask.
There's just something about shattered glass ...

Perhaps the shards of glass represent your former life, and that must be forgotten for whatever reason. Your past life may have been an abstraction, an past that could not be labeled, but more like the photo, an abstraction that is both beautiful and sad, but things also that don't last. A lovely flow to this poem and perfect rhyme. Enjoyed it. (I love the photo, abstract but also ethereal.)
