SteepA Poem by PeteIt's only by forgetting yourself that you draw near to God. - Thoreau'cuz i don't want god to see not who i am, but rather who i desire to be long ago i lost the key and the ability to see not to mention a voice that proclaims with glee that rich, undying love you know, the one from above soaring like a dove i hope you agree it takes a miracle to walk a dead sea and live carefree especially with all the floating debris we only get a little black book promise a sort of living decree a trickling, blood oath, not an earthly guarantee tenderly hanging from an untied noose 'round a tree i get one lump not three no not in my loose-leaf, steeping tea © 2020 PeteAuthor's Note
