and not just the shiny ones at that

they called him a skinflint and a miser

and no one was any the wiser

I just don:t get crypto currency Pete. Got to be brave to deal with that. Having said that, I have found recently no need to carry cash. The card does all the talking. However if I saw a penny on the pavement, I would stoop to pick it up:)

have been discussing this a lot with others recently. i often wonder why we even have physical money (cash) anymore. why do even have the penny - why not round everything off to the nearest nickel, dime, quarter or dollar and get rid of it - it costs more to mint them than they're worth. as you point out, all we need is a card to swipe. cash only seems necessary in the illegal black markets and private transactions. i wonder what the government will do about crypto currencies - will they jump in and regulate them or make them illegal? since they did away with backing up money with gold, the u.s. federal reserve mints money 'round the clock to pay for all their debt - shudder to think about the current deficit (mind boggling). i've been hearing that crypto currencies are here to stay ... :)

Nicely written Pete, this crypto craze is hard for me to get my head around, it just seems risky. Having said that I’ll probably be the one who misses out. Lol

risky indeed but lucrative too. as the old gamblers of the wild wild west were fond of saying, "the wheel may be crooked but it's the only wheel in town". i do wonder what will happen with the crypto currencies ... :)
