'Owed' to Thee

'Owed' to Thee

A Poem by Pete

Think for yourself, or others will think for you without thinking of you. - Thoreau

"
Lynn Heritage State Park

i wear the sneakers
or do they wear me
i walk the path
or does it walk me
i stare at the water
or does it stare at me
i sing the song
or does it sing me
i kneel down to say my prayers
but i can't get back up on this trick knee

i light the candle
or does it light me
i hold the key
or does it hold me
i close my eyes so that i can see
see the real me
am i really something
or just a wanna be
am i you

or thee

A thought provoking little poem Pete. I am definitely me and I'm in control of my life. I love your posted image and right at this moment in time I would love to be sitting on that bench staring into that expanse of water while listening to the rustle of those autumn leaves tickled by a light breeze.

I love this poem for the message most of all, plus the rhyme & rhythm are quietly humming. I should hope that, in my life, I've moved somewhat from: me thinking I control anything . . . to: me accepting that I control nothing (((HUGS)))

Has the sound of both philosophy and physics. Is there only one thing in the universe, the apparent separateness of things attributable to the physical being's lower frequency? Or do things exist only if an observer looks at them? If this glass of merlot I'm looking at isn't real, I'm going to be mighty disappointed.

I think they are quite interchangeable, Pete.
this is clever and so thoughtful...
and that video is quite good...Prince adds his touch to songs and they just flourish...
I saw Kool and the Gang in concert...favorite song of theirs was Hollywood Swinging.

thanks for this poem to start my morning.

Is it a case of conscious thinking or rather the spirit...the we are one and one is we thought process could heal so many pains of humanity, too much ego afoot walking those paths and not enough soul reflected on that water...another superb poem Pete...
