A Poem by Pete
"

What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lives within us. - Thoreau

"

up
down
sideways and around
crooked smile to straight frown
a real snake charmer
with chinks in his genetic armor
walking down the crowded sidewalk of life
stepping over each and every crack
he never knew who he was 'til he landed on one

breaking his mama's back

“Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves.” “However mean your life is, meet it and live it; do not shun it and call it hard names. It is not so bad as you are. It looks poorest when you are richest. The fault-finder will find faults even in paradise." - Thoreau

the Clefts in life...uneven faces, uneven traces of an uneven life.
Marred and scarred but worth living to him...
not so much to the people he hurt.
