Tino to The Power of Two

It often happens that a man is more humanely related to a cat or dog than to any human being. - Thoreau

i met tino on the sidewalk
friendly gent carrying the gentlest feline at his side in a pouch slung over his shoulder
like a mother with a papoose
holding him close
a cat he named after himself out of purr affection
said he had rescued him from being abused

tino is a black, maine coon
priceless emerald eyes
sweet innocence with whiskers and paws
could have petted that cushiony fur forever as he looked up at me with those exquisite gems
roses without the stems
sweet innocence flowing like the river thames
inseparable
intriguing
where goes one goes the other
no matter what you say or do
you get

tino to the power of two

"A kitten is so flexible that she is almost double; the hind parts are equivalent to another kitten with which the fore part plays. She does not discover that her tail belongs to her till you tread upon it." - Thoreau
