Closer To The Heart

Closer To The Heart

A Poem by Pete
"

Our hearts are warm and cheery, like cottages under drifts. The heart is forever inexperienced. - Thoreau

"
She Loves Me Not :( | Genius Level

she loves me
she loves me not
in this back and forth dilemma i am caught

hearts and petals grow and fall
stirred daisy soup
caught in an infinite loop

no way out
emotional mayhem
think i'll stick with the stem

Author's Note

Pete
"What other words, we may almost ask, are memorable and worthy to be repeated than those which love has inspired? It is wonderful that they were ever uttered. They are few and rare indeed, but, like a strain of music, they are incessantly repeated and modulated by the memory. All other words crumble off with the stucco which overlies the heart. We should not dare to repeat these now aloud. We are not competent to hear them at all times." - Thoreau

Caught in a love dilemma; what to do? chaos in the mind, but i think you've found a place of comfort in the end....very powerful, and very metaphoric...I like Thoreau's thought as well; we should only remember love words that have inspired us....others should and will fade away.....

Wowzy woooo! This was an excellent one with a surprise twist. I was wondering if you were going to be another victim; another martyr.
By the way, is daisy soup tasty???
