Step to The "Right" (Please Remember The "Rules")

Step to The "Right" (Please Remember The "Rules")

A Poem by Pete
"

When I read some of the rules for speaking and writing the English language correctly, I think any fool can make a rule, and every fool will mind it. - Thoreau

"
Mob rule - Wikipedia

sure as a winter of discontent distracts and cools
a summer of want stares and drools

what tricks us misrepresents, deceives and fools
all that doth glitter is not jewels

you can neither build nor destroy without the proper tools
that which teaches us schools

heaven is for saved souls and hell for lost ghouls
for good and bad, rhyme and reason, there's no diving allowed in the shallow end of pools

that which openly mocks ridicules
overwhelming, massive decrees or tiny, microscopic molecules

carrying burdens uphill is best left to pack mules
whether you breakdance, saunter and trudge in dark alleyways or riverdance, traipse and wander in well-lit, crowded streets, always remember that

the mob rules

Author's Note

Pete
"My friend is one who takes me for what I am. A stranger takes me for something else than what I am . . . . What men call social virtues, good fellowship, is commonly but the virtue of pigs in a litter which lie close together to keep each other warm. It brings men together in crowds and mobs in bar-rooms and elsewhere, but it does not deserve the name of virtue." - Thoreau

interesting satire, as i read this one .. mobs and greed seem to be making all the rules these days .. pity .. we've seen it all before, historically ... nothing is left to be discovered as far as governing goes .. nothing new under the sun .. yet how miraculously each new dawn breaks ever different .. hmmmmm
