sometimes this world has the temerity to lend you a stolen, mesh umbrella with a hole in it

with the impudence to ask you why you're wet

after having the nerve to spit in your face from behind your back

the hardihood to ask you if you need a ride to church

the gall to tell you to squeeze into the back next to a massacring, pole dancer who lies on her taxes and parks in yellow, police-taped, handicapped spaces

with the arrogance to steal the things you can't even afford to lack

but don't worry, it's okay, because you have the humility to remain quiet and not give it any flack

especially on the way back to your one-room, roof-leaking, shack

where it challenges you to an all-or-nothing game of cards with a deck that's nothing but jokers along with a blind, one-eyed jack

It's kinda akin to the concept of evolution.... whatever works, I will figure out a way to love enough to make a species out of.

I prefer the term gorilla to ape by the way. Orangutans should rule the world in my opinion... too much natural empathy. Homo sapiens are the perfect amount of jerks to rule the world it seems.
