Parched

Parched

Why is Death Seen as Dark and Sinister? - InnerEngineering.com

oh where went the sun
and its long, lost, wayward cousin the moon
oh why has midnight drawn a shrouding curtain over noon
we're all born with toe tags needing only a name, cause and date
yet they say that it's never too late

troops of clouds stormed in with an unexpected, silent, death march
yet another fallen arch
another casketed dress shirt, pressed and starched
i'd have to crawl through the sahara and guzzle the pacific
just to begin feeling a wee bit parched

Author's Note

Pete
“The life in us is like the water in the river. It may rise this year higher than man has ever known it, and flood the parched uplands; even this may be the eventful year, which will drown out all our muskrats. It was not always dry land where we dwell.” - Thoreau

Beautiful work Pete. Great Imagery. I saw Pearl Jam in concert back in 92, it was for their first album, Ten.
