A Poem by Pete
"

He who cannot read is worse than deaf and blind, is yet but half alive, is still-born. - Thoreau

"
The Blind Leading the Blind - Wikipedia
The Blind Leading the Blind, Distemper on linen canvas, 1568
by Pieter Bruegel the Elder

chatoyant, praying flowers
crouching, higher powers
glowless, agnostic moons
fibrous prunes and forked spoons
nuclear suns and bent trees
trinities of threes floating 'tween the lines of yesterday's delicate breeze
oceans of emotions
chained sanity and other loosed, crazy notions
a plethora of pushes turned into a single shove
all these esoteric things that poets write of
claiming they know things about
whispers in the dead of night turned to a dewy dawn's profound shout
one way in and a million ways out

remembered kisses and recollected songs
free rights and costly wrongs
joy and pain
how to scrub a throw-rug to remove a stubborn stain
bleeding hearts and broken heads
leary, loose threads
wobbly, wanting knees
thank you and please
humming, electric, eclectic bumble bees
white, robed mice, green, steeped teas and smelly, profane cheese
life's moribund strip tease
things a blind man feels and sees
not even able to drive, let alone find his own damned car keys

Some blind people go on to be famous and known worldwide like Helen Keller, Stevie Wonder, and much more; others fade into oblivion and darkness. Now, a saying goes like this: "A one-eyed man is a king among the blind. A two- eyed will be an Emperor."
Some people chose to be blind by ignoring the facts. Some refuse to follow blindly.
An excellent poem sir Pete.
