Spinning Back In Time

Spinning Back In Time

A Poem by Pete
"

When I hear music, I fear no danger. I am invulnerable. I see no foe. I am related to the earliest times, and to the latest. - Thoreau

Hard Rock Music - ROCKRADIO.COM

i'll never forget sneaking into my older brother's room when he was out
rifling through his collection of music
stealthily making my selection
for my daily grind's parole and soul's protection
quickly returning to my own room
married to the melody with the rhythm the bride and me the groom

a transformative medium in my teen grip
electric twanging and pounded percussion
familiar uneven, wobbling, static crackle of grooved vinyl
hissing click of an eight track
tiny white-noise wheels of a cassette
'twas the hard rock eighties
something i and my ears shant ever forget
