riding a bike with no pedals

wearing poignant breasts like combat medals

poking out the eyes of all the men who passed by

listening to jimi and kissing the sky

shaking hot cross buns like maraccas

using frequent flier miles to visit caracas

a tried and true chameleon

wayward bohemian

an uncouth kind of dame

her unclaimed fame

putting writers to shame

known only by a pen name

went to poetry readings and smoked reefer

verses short and titles even briefer

a real keeper

always late for a blind date

sitting on an upside down, milk crate

destiny trumps fate

pull up a box and say hello to

sister kate

Hello, Sister Kate. I'm still wondering who made her breasts sad. I always favored the perky ones myself. Maybe they will cheer up. Pope said hope springs eternal, there, after all. Love me some Jimi. Two of my faves are Dolly Dagger and Crosstown Traffic. Great read, she seems like an interesting gal.

I like Fire. I know Dylan wrote Watchtower. I heard Jimi wrote fire when a lady offered his band to stay in her home during a blizzard...hence, let me stand next to your fire...he took the line and made it into a metaphor. I don't know if the story is true but it makes for good urban legend.

If men can be wild with their various idioSINcracies.. - why not the gals, dames or hers of feminine gender, Pete!? Ladies like Kate are the power behind the women of today... they birthed the right to do what they like.. a take it or leave it kind of behaviour.. but don't hurt the grannies! That said, this writing amazes me, you've added rhythm/meter and words to make the eyes pop out by - adding flavour to today because of the past. Brilliantly laid, colourfully stated! Plus, there's nowt wrong with Hendrix.. just wear earcuffs!!

There should be far more free minded people like her...as as long as not hurting others. As the saying goes: rules are made to be broken. Think of all the superb and/or beautiful human beings, books, paintings and all else created that have inspired the hidden into becoming unique! Anyone can be ordinary, not everyone can be extraordinary!

i should have known you'd sniff this one out -right up your alley. purely fictional. been listening to a lot of jimi's music lately and conjured this up after seeing the girls dancing at his concerts. we probably all knew someone like her type.

She reminds me of a girl from the 60's...free spirit, only cares about herself, somewhat of a hippie, men are in awe...she writes poetry while smoking reefers....she doesn't really care about her wardrobe.. kind of funky....uncouth... destiny has it, because she has much to show...the adventurous kind..a stand-out...

i've been listening to a lot of hendrix music and watching some of his live concert performances lately and this was born from watching these types of girls dancing at his concerts (probably high - that whole cultural thing). you nailed the type. we all knew such people if we look back.
