Beyond The Yellow Tape

Beyond The Yellow Tape

A Poem by Pete
"

Never look back unless you are planning to go that way. - Thoreau

"
Concrete Barricade Caution Tape Blowing ...

there is love in the breeze
along with reminiscence in the trees
happiness in the red berries of holly
lush humility in flesh's folly

yesterday is for sorrow
as tomorrow we beg and borrow
"please move along, there's nothing more here to see"
too bad we can't just let it be
i'm afraid i have to respectfully agree

"Too bad we can't just let it be."

What a good line to wrap this piece up with...us people are always longing for answers spiked by our curiosity. Sometimes, imagination is the way to go...not getting so hung up on having to 'know' the answers to what we 'want/need' to know right then. To add, this is also a great poem about the power of mindfulness and how it's good to just take time and enjoy the smaller things in life.

This poem is very heavy and it really created a scene in front of my eyes, a sad scene. It's a little broken but I'm sure it will continue.
"too bad we can't just let it be
i'm afraid i have to respectfully agree" made me feel lighter somehow.

Hello Pete, this little piece speaks to me about the importance of living in the now. What’s gone is gone. Better to focus on the present than living in the past. Full of wisdom, though easier said than done. Hope all is good in your world.
