As Tomorrow Becomes Today

As Tomorrow Becomes Today

A Poem by Pete
"

Perfect sincerity and transparency make a great part of beauty, as in dewdrops, lakes, and diamonds. - Thoreau

"
Why are some mornings so dewy ...

as nature's gospel licks its fingers and turns the page
athirst for ever more
an ariose dawn is ushered 'pon aquiline wishes
its promises aphonic

faith's eternity aurified in glory
quietude has little to say
last night's dandy dew glistening in dripping reluctance
as tomorrow becomes today

"But the impressions which the morning makes vanish with its dews, and not even the most "persevering mortal" can preserve the memory of its freshness to midday." - Thoreau
