The endless night

The endless night

A Poem by Dave Solis
"

It's real

"
In the darkness of the Endless Night where evil creatures kill and fight I've been forced to live alone exiled from my little home in the night you cannot sleep or you'll be vulnerable enough to eat there is no civilized or friends just monsters that love to play pretend I never thought that there would be a Monster Killer Inside Me but you cant talk your way around the hungry monster if you're found there's many things you never do in the light just isn't you but you got to eat sometimes and live somehow and get things done and figured out so at some point you interact with some monsters and have their back do things that just don't seem right but commonplace here in the night and you're good at what you do the monsters are in awe of you your plan is that you would do only what you needed to to escape out of the night and get back to your normal life but somewhere somehow along the way you didn't notice and couldn't say that all the effort you put forth towards what you've been fighting for are wasted cuz you cannot see what you become turned out to be your daytime access has been denied cuz everything you've done and tried to get you back into your life or had to do to survive the night has been terrible violent immoral and wrong the only reason you've made it this long because slowly to keep achieving your goals you had to immerse yourself in this world while in your mind you kept your eye on the light in your actions you were a boss Of The Night you been at it too long it's been decades not years even though towards the light you constantly steered the things that you've done to make it to here turned you into reason even monsters know fear

This is dark, and heavy. Our middle son is currently fighting this fight. He's 37 and we seldom know where he is or how he's doing. We'll get hin to come home for a spell, but then the darkness comes. We cover him in prayer and can only hope he can loose the monster that shadows.
