Manner

Manner

A Poem by Gobinder Singh Dhindsa
"

Manners play a great role behind human character

"
Manners are the main part of soul,
They choose the way of goal.
Manners play a great role,
They decide crest or hole.

Manners are of two kinds
Its 'Good or Bad' find.
Manners're reflection of our character & mind,
They select our aim & mind.

Discourtesy is not a legal offence
I may be haughty or boorish
And there is no penalty

Good manners make good character,
They like diesel for tractor.
Manners help achieve aim with factor,
Without good manners not a good character.

Bad manners like a pain,
It throws in our life acid rain.
Bad manners like a bleedy cane,
It destroyed our body main.

We infect the world with our ill-humours
Bad manners probably do more to poison
The stream of general life

What a great poem! We seem to have lost our way in the how we interact with each other, such disrespect and casual violence. Manners are far more important in the human condition than people realize.

Grammar issue: Manners is a plural word, and the first line of your poem treat them this way 'Manners are' instead of "Manners is' (wrong)

Then the 2nd and 4th line refer to 'It' ... seeming to be talking about manners, which since it is a plural word should be 'They'... 'they choose' ... 'they decide'

Good work :)

I like it!
It reminds me of a line of Hannibal Lector "free range rude".

I agree with the previous reviewers. Good manners help define a person and open doors.

Best regards,

Having good manners opens doors, and having bad manners shuts them.Being polite should be instinctive.

I don't believe you can rhyme "factor" and "character".

I agree with your words. Being polite and kind can open the door to friendship. Negative treatment of another close door and create separations. I like how you made your point in the poem. A outstanding poem.
