Break down my wall

Break down my wall

A Poem by Kelly

I never knew
It would be you
It would be you after all
The only one to break down my wall

I put it up to keep people out
While I sit alone and pout
You were brave and chose to explore
What others simply would ignore

I had no voice, but you still heard my cries
As I pushed more away with all the goodbyes
You felt you had to take a chance
On the one others never gave a second glance

You wouldn't leave
You told me it was time to believe
You wouldn't accept my ifs, ands or buts
You took my hand and pulled me from the ruts

For once in my life, I chose to listen
Uncover my ears, because there was so much I was missin'
Yours are the words that had the power and I heard the call
I will no longer cower as I step from behind the wall

Awww! I love how the speaker is really in her shell, but the "you" she is talking about pulls her out of it and shows her the beauty. This poem was really amazing! You are a very talented writer. Plus, I love the way you use the words in your poetry. :)
