when normal=broken

We grew up in a different way,

Men put their hands on you sometimes
and that's OK 
Men lie to you 
and cheat on you sometimes 
and that's also OK 
As long as they come back 
everything is OK

Because we grew up in a different way 
Watching the women pray 
Alone in their home's as there men lay 
In the bed of a broken girl 
Who never quit grew up but nevertheless grew up the same way 
That we did 
Weeping under a smile 
Scares hidden under a pile 
Of her mother's screams 
And broken dreams 
But it's all OK
As long as they come back 
For a fight or for a f**k 
It's all OK 
Everything is OK

You see
Bruises are part of our skin 
They blend into our blackness 
Blood spills from our mouths
And brings light into our darkness 
Because that is the only time anything is allowed to drop from our lips 
we bleed 
Accompanying our blood with our screams

But it's OK 
As long as they come back 
its all OK

I think you meant to use "norms" in the title, and not "norm's"

Yes you are right, but i guess when you grow up watching all this things being treated as normal, you eventually just grow in to them your self. i am not saying its right or wrong, i just wanted to portray the other side of the story.the side that thinks 'its better to feel pain than nothing at all'. and yes i noticed some punctuation issues after the post, i am trying to work better on that. Thank you so much for your review, i really appreciate it and please keep it up, its of big help.

Gave me chills! I would love a little punctuation to help it flow better.. I had to re-read some things. And some punctuation was incorrect. But the imagery! And the contrast--making the normal broken and that being "okay"? Wow. Chills. Very eye opening. Keep writing!
