Forbidden, on the moors

Forbidden, on the moors

A Poem by Lyssie Perkins
"

A poem of unrequited love, over lifetimes.

"

and... when you first saw me
my hearts, legs, and wings all akimbo;
did you want to fall into an embrace of feathers
or have me fly you to places unknown?

you were my sunfired sky, so bright...
i could never forsee what you wished me to be
all i wanted was to lay with you there
tangled in feathers, by the moors, in the heather

and when, when i first saw you
darkest eyes amidst a steaming sun
fog touching fins on the cloudiest night
would you have loved me, if you'd known...

...we could never have forever, love
